It has taken astonishingly long to get broadband internet and fixed line phone connected to our new apartment. As one reader said, he didn’t realise we had moved to Italy instead of Switzerland.

Outlining the saga can wait for a later post, but we are now into the twelfth week since ordering the connection and it is still not set up. After much cajoling, the telephone company has sent us a wireless USB modem as a temporary solution. As a result, the Basilisk can now finally reopen its eyes.
